THE lure of winning at Mount Panorama - it is something which has long driven Brad Jones and now has him sweating so much he feels he should be wearing his bathers.

The former Supercars driver turned team boss will once more tackle the slopes of Bathurst's famous circuit in the virtual celebrity race on May 18.
Driving a simulator is very different to what Jones - a man who started in the Great Race 24 times - experienced during his career as a Supercars driver.
Hence working up a sweat as he got some practice in the simulator owned by his son Macauley.
"I'm quite competitive so I'll be trying to find some time in there [simulator] to do some running. I went around the other night and after 40 minutes, I said when 'I come back I'll be wearing my bathers' because I was sweating so much, it was like I'd been in the pool," Jones said.
"So I think I was a little too tense, I certainly didn't looked relaxed when I was in it."
While Jones laughed that was was dobbed in to take part in the celebrity race rather than nominating himself, saying "I don't know that I put my hand up, in fact I had my hand in my pocket," he is looking forward to the challenge.
Having the experience of racing at Bathurst in the past is something that will given him an edge over some of the other celebrities, who include Jack Riewoldt, Nathan Hindmarsh and Peter Siddle.
As well as his experience in the Bathurst 1000 - where he stood on the outright podium six times - Jones also drove in the 24 Hour race at Mount Panorama in 2002.
But Jones will still be spending as much time in a simulator as he can in the lead up to the virtual race.
"I've been over at Macauleys place and had a go and I think I had two laps without having an accident, so clearly I have a lot of work to do in a very short space of time," he said.
"I am a long, long way off the pace yet and I am very competitive, so I need to really spend more time in that thing to try and find a bit of car speed.
"I think it does help I know Bathurst, I know where it's all going, the games are amazing really.
"Bits of the circuit for me, like going across the top, coming out and going down through Reid Park and across McPhillamy, that really has a similar sort of feel in it.
"So I think certainly the fact I know where the corners are helps, but you're in a different gear in some of the corners than you were when I was going around and I'm probably one of the few very people who is still actually faster in the car than they are in the game.
"So I've got a bit of work to do yet, but anyway it's all a bit of fun and I'm looking forward to it in a funny sort of way."
As for Mount Panorama being the venue selected for the celebrity race, Jones said while there are easier circuits it was the natural pick.
"They picked the best track to put it on, but funnily enough it's probably one of the hardest ones to drive on. I think something flat with lots of open corners might be a bit easier, but why would you go anywhere but the best circuit in the country?," he said.
"That's something I am looking forward to because if I miss anything from racing, it's Bathurst."
