The Michael Munro trained and driven The Girls Have It posted her first win in almost 14 months on Wednesday when she saluted as an $81 outsider in the TAB Live Vision Pace (2,260 metres).
She was the only mare to win at the eight-race meeting and of the nine runners she beat out in her race, all were geldings but one.
Since winning the Listed Gold Bracelet Consolation as a three-year-old in late March 2019 - that effort also a surprise as she prevailed as a $61 chance - the best The Girls Have It had managed for Munro was a pair of seconds.
But on Wednesday she was again a winner.
She went from barrier two and showed good gate speed to take the lead. While Munro then handed front spot up, The Girls Have It enjoyed a good trip on the leader's back.
She then accelerated down the home straight to win by 4.7m over Sport Mickilla ($7, Mark Hewitt), clocking a 28.8 seconds final quarter to do so.
