It may not be a full return to competition play but this Saturday will see the Eglinton players back on the court for an American round robin doubles event and singles shootout.
Under the new strict guidelines from the NSW government and Tennis NSW the number of players will be limited.
Players need to enter for Saturday's event no later than 5pm this Friday with a text to our head coach Rod Schumacher on 0431737585 or match conveynor Allyson Schumacher on 0421178307.
"All the players are just so eager to get back on to the court, and with the strict new guidelines it has given us a glimmer of hope to slowly get back to what we all love so much - tennis," Head coach Schumacher said.
Club selector John Bullock agreed.
"All the players have been biting their nails on when they would be back playing tennis again. It's a definite step towards normality, and I have no doubt that when our new club house is completed and things get back to normal, the Eglinton Tennis Club and it's players will soar to a new level in becoming one of the biggest little clubs in the west," he said.
I hope all our players, in alphabetical order, are all coping well under these difficult times: Lyle Anderson, Josh Arnold, David Bant, Chiara Bicanic, Jacob Bicanic, Kurt Booth, Phil Church, Paul Clancy, Jeorge Collins, Martin Collins, David Craft, Lincoln Craft, Harry Dang, Peter Deacon, Josh Dorman, Matt Dunn, Brian Dwyer, Rebekka Fisher, Peter Francis, Paul Hammels, Garth Hindmarch, Cal Hobson, Bailley Honeyman, Jason Honeyman, Maddie Honeyman, Sebastian Honeyman, Andrew Howarth, Barry Hurst, Fred Kentwell, Dion Killiby, Barry Lindsay, Brook Lynch, Rob Mack, Dan Mcleay, Jason Molkentin, Ben Moulds, Les Moulds, Bev Nancarrow, Brad Nancarrow, Megan Neville, Stewart Palmer, Damien Press, Percy Raveneau, Bryan Reiri, Kay Sandridge, Allyson Schumacher, Rod Schumacher, Charlotte Simpson, Travis Simpson, Judy Smith, Caitlin Spears, Graeme Stapleton, Reed Stephens, Toko Tori, Kevin Tree, Matt Tree, Sarah Tree, Craig Wilkinson and Kath Wilkinson.
