DRIVERS travelling to Sydney next week can expect some delays due to maintenance work on a section of the Great Western Highway.

The work includes repairing the road surface along a 1.7 kilometre section of the highway between Magpie Hollow Road and McKanes Falls Road at South Bowenfels, south of Lithgow.
Work will be carried out between 7am and 6pm next Tuesday, May 26 and Wednesday, May 27 and is expected to take just two days to complete, weather permitting.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Traffic control, lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place throughout the project for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, allow extra travel time and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
