On Wednesday night at the Bathurst Paceway the Art Major x Erin Jean gelding posted the 44th win of his career when taking out the BSB David Mavvaro Pace (1,730 metres).
That he did so in a 1:54.4 mile rate - easily the quickest win of the eight races held - shows why Beetson's The Lagoon trainer still takes him racing.
After going from barrier nine as a $23 chance, Beetson was three back on the pegs when the bell sounded.
Driver Tom Pay was able to ease him out of the trail into the final bend then steered Beetson four-wide into the home straight.
Though he had ground to make up, once in space the veteran responded.
He flew home to win by 2.1m ahead of Maximus Red ($14) and add to a success story that began more than a decade ago.
