The heavens opened up in the early hours of Thursday morning, bringing almost 10 millimetres of rain to the city of Bathurst.
By 9am, 9.8mm had been recorded at Bathurst's official weather station at the airport.
Weather forecasts had previously indicated Bathurst could receive anywhere between 1-5mm of rain on Thursday, so it's a good sight to see the morning's rainfall go beyond the previous forecast predicted.
Thursday was the first time rain had been recorded in Bathurst since May 9 and there still remain a chance of more rain to fall throughout Thursday.
Bathurst has officially recorded 35.4mm of rain this month.
