The college has followed the advice outlined in the Australian Institute of Sport's recently released plan to reboot sport in the community, of which the current levels always heavily restricted participation in certain activities and training.
Head of Scots All Saints College John Weeks said the school is keen to offer as many sporting opportunities to its students as possible, and the AIS framework gives staff the opportunity to do so in a safe manner.
"In line with the Government and AIS recommendations to 'reboot' sport for students from Kindergarten through to Year 12, Scots All Saints College has advanced with its ability to hold 'Active Sports Afternoons' in school time where students choose from a range of sports which encourage physical and mental fitness," he said.
"These include orienteering, mountain biking, running, strength and conditioning, badminton, table tennis and individual training for down the track where it could be possible winter school sports like netball and rugby may kick off again."
Scots All Saints College will be looking to field teams across several Bathurst Netball Association grades once again this season while their rugby union sides gear up for a possible return to ISA competition in term three.
Training possibilities for winter school sports have been opened up thanks to the latest round of government restrictions be eased slightly.
With groups of 10 being allowed together outside - while maintaining existing social distancing measures - non-contact forms of training, such as fitness work, can be implemented.
"Our students are very excited to be able to participate in physical activity and sport again even in this modified way," Weeks said.
"Our aim through the Active Afternoons are to get students active again within the guidelines, improve physical, social and emotional wellbeing of our students and take advantage of the space we have at Scots All Saints College."
Weeks said the reboot wouldn't be able to happen without the extensive work put in by everyone involved across the school's community.
"I wish to thank the wonderful staff, students and parents within our College community who have worked proactively together within the government guidelines to keep our school a happy and safe place to be while academic rigor in the classrooms continues," he said.
"In many ways, we feel we are 'ahead of the game' and well-prepared, proving Scots All Saints College can be agile and flexible to adapt together and meet any challenges in a very positive way."
There is a planned draw crafted for the ISA Rugby season but it will be dependent on the current state of restrictions, while the Bathurst Netball Association have set their target date for competition on July 25.
