The campaign, entitled DoorsOpen!Bathurst, is encouraging local businesses to list their opening hours and services on council's Bathurst Business Hub website, as well as provide details on how they're operating differently during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We're working closely with the Bathurst Business Chamber to promote the importance of supporting local businesses," Bathurst mayor Bobby Bourke said.
"Our local businesses have been doing it tough during COVID-19, and this campaign will help them connect with the right customers."
The campaign will also see the Bathurst Business Hub put together social media posts to raise the profile of businesses.
Local businesses are also encouraged to keep their respective social media channels up to date as the COVID-19 situation continues to develop.
Bathurst Business Chamber president Catherine Fitzsimons said the new campaign will go hand-in-hand with the existing Keep It Local campaign.
"This campaign is a reminder that the doors are open on these businesses and why we should continue to frequent them," Ms Fitzsimons said.
Ms Fitzsimons said the chamber is continuing to reach out to local business owners through video conferencing.
"We're using Zoom meetings to provide our regular networking and educational opportunities for local businesses," she said.
