With the social distancing measures put in place due to the coronavirus pandemic now starting to ease and a July 18 target set for the resumption of play, CWJRU officials have been liaising with member clubs to come up with the best model for the season.
It still aims to hold competitions for the under 12, under 14 and under 16 age groups and is considering options for under 6, under 8s and under 10s given the Walla Gala Days will not be able to run in their regular format.
"A number of competition models are being developed that will hopefully allow players to participate in a shortened but meaningful season," CWJRU posted on its Facebook page.
"The CWJRU has been in contact with all junior club presidents to obtain their feedback and will continue to liaise with clubs during the development process.
"The CWJRU hope to release these models to clubs shortly so parents and players remained informed."
While draws are still being formulated, CWJRU member clubs such as Bathurst can return to small group training with a maximum of 10 people.
No contact will be permitted at those sessions, with rucks, mauls, scrums, line-outs, tackling and wrestling drills currently prohibited.
Players must remain at least 1.5 metres apart.
