From June 1, 50 patrons will be allowed in pubs, clubs and restaurants across NSW, with a further 50 allowed in separate dining areas.
In response to the news, Bathurst hotelier Ash Lyons has confirmed that the Oxford Hotel, owned by his business model Lion Majestic Hospitality Group, will open further facilities.
"The public bar will definitely reopen, and we'll be able to extend our dine-in capacity at B Town BBQ," Mr Lyons said.
"In normal periods of trade, we can cater for 1500 downstairs and 400 upstairs so we should, in theory, be able to open the upstairs function room too."
MORE LOCAL VENUE NEWS:
While excited to see the restrictions eased further, Mr Lyons said larger venues still have a long way to go before true normalcy resumes, and that further eases will depend on how patrons adhere to the conditions.
"Patrons will have to be seated and practising social distancing, so we're a long way off until people can dance and mingle again," he said.
"I'm pleased it's happening sooner than what was forecast, but fingers crossed people take responsibility for their own approach to social distancing."
"It's important to remember we're going back into a 'COVID world,' which is far from our normal world."
MORE LOCAL VENUE NEWS:
Mr Lyons expects there will be an initial surge in venue patronage over the first few weeks, which could result in a busy period for local pubs and restaurants.
"As we've been open throughout the whole COVID-period, I believe we're well prepared to welcome more people back," he said.
George Hotel owner and licensee Matt Harrowsmith has also confirmed the venue will reopen for 50 people, but is yet to determine a date.
"We'll be open by next Thursday at the latest," Mr Harrowsmith said.
"There'll be tweaks to the menu and the style of service but other than that, the venue will have the same vibe our regulars know and love."
The Elephant and Castle Hotel is also set to reopen next week, though co-owner Campbell Gibson admits it'll be a 'trial and error' scenario.
"It'll be hard with 50 at a time, but our situation will be helped by the fact Job Keeper's still in place," Mr Gibson said.
"The next six months will be tough for all businesses, so we have to work together to move on from this."
