OUTDOOR classes are likely to get back underway at Bathurst PCYC from next week and it may not be much longer before the club will be able to bring activities indoors.

Recent changes to coronavirus restrictions will allow the club to get outdoor events, for activities like martial arts and fitness classes, up and running but when the club receives directives from their governing body it could bring the centre back to life.
PCYC Bathurst manager Dave Hitchick said it remains unclear when the increase to 50 people indoors will be applied to gyms but is confident such a change can't be far away.
"It'll be a scaled approach. Effectively I'll be back in the club from next week and I believe we'll be able to start boot camps and outdoor training for some of our activities," he said.
"Everything will be scaled in. They're talking about gyms and indoor places opening up from the following week. The framework for that hasn't come down for the PCYC yet but that means we should be able to start bringing back some of our classes.
"Obviously there will be some fairly stringent social distancing in place but that will probably be the new norm for the rest of the year. We'll need to come up with things that are going to work in our space, while making sure people get the care that they need.
"Some kids genuinely need a place to go so we're making sure we get a balance there."
It's very welcome news not just for PCYC members but for the staff around Hitchick, who weren't expecting to be in this position until August at the earliest.
He said there's been a great feeling among the crew of late.
"We're well ahead of that, and we've got the Australian public to thank for doing the right thing. We've done really well as a society to fight this thing," he said.
"Now it's about vigilance once we start opening up doors. We love what we do and our team can't wait to get back into working with kids again. It's been a really long break for them."
