Price certainly hopes so.
After taking part in the Supercars celebrity Eseries race, two-time Dakar Rally champion Price revealed in an interview with Motorsport Australia that a Bathurst 1000 start is one of his ambitions.
"The real deal race would be another one on the bucket list for sure to do," Price said.
"I've been stirring up Chad Reed a little bit, saying, 'Hey, we need to see if we can get into the real deal game at Bathurst 1000 one year.'
"I've now got my own simulator at the shop, so I've been practising at night, so I'm getting ready for my next one," he added with a laugh.
"Whenever I get that call-up. Hopefully Roland Dane will give me a call-up and I'll be ready to go."

Supercross star Reed managed to place second in the first of the two Supercars celebrity Eseries races held at Mount Panorama.
"That was awesome, it's 5.48am here ... but it's worth staying up all night for that," he said after that effort.
Price had less luck but he did make the highlights reel for a incident in race two. His Red Bull Commodore was upended after a crash with Barry Ryan.
"The simulator race didn't quite go to plan for us, but I made it entertaining; I laid on my roof for about two laps and the boys were losing it, laughing at me and whatnot," he said.
Reed revealed when visiting Mount Panorama for the 2017 edition of the Bathurst 1000 that he had contemplated a switch from two wheels to four.
"Once upon a time I did consider a Supercars career, but my life as I know it is in the US, three kids and a wife," he said at the time.
"It would be a big change to up root everyone.
"I'm no spring chicken any more. I've spent a life dedicated to motorcycles and I don't know that I'm at that point in my life where I want to go and dedicate that much time and effort into something that's completely new."
However, a wildcard appearance at the Mount with Price would require less commitment.
It could just mean a Bathurst joke between mates becomes reality.
