In an open letter to state premier Gladys Berejiklian a selection of NSW coaches and players said they've been left feeling "high and dry" due to a lack of communication.

"Other states have provided financial assistance and a return to play date for sport, yet in NSW we have nothing," the letter read.

"At a time when schools are back in session, pubs and restaurants are able to host up to 50 people and life looks like it is getting back to normal, community sport is high and dry without even a hint of when further information might be forthcoming."

Muller said she agreed with the sentiments in the letter, which was released last Friday.

The BNA president said a lack of direction is not just leaving players dissatisfied but also their families and other supporters.

"We've had a small regional meeting with Netball NSW last week and we're putting things in place in case things are able to get underway but it's still just a case of having to wait and see," she said.

"With the way things are at the moment it's not really viable to have a season. We'll do what we can, even if it means having to run different age groups on a weekday.

"It's very hard to get that amount of people on the courts on a Saturday."

Muller said that if restrictions are lifted to a degree where play could take place it's not going to be as easy as flicking a switch which says 'Up and running again'.

"Everyone wants to get back and play the game," she said.

"But we run on volunteers and it's going to be a lot of work to get things back underway. We're probably going to have to call on more people to help us out on a Saturday.

"We really need more information. We're trying to prepare and our committee is asking 'What can we do?' but there's nothing we can do. We can't make those important decisions until the get the information that we need."

It's also stated in the ladder that the sport is currently undergoing a financial crisis.

"Netball NSW is a non-profit organisation. It was founded by brave, pioneering women for whom nothing came easy," he letter stated.

"Now we are fighting for survival. It must not be allowed to flounder through a situation not of its own making."

The letter is signed by Maddy Proud (NSW Swifts captain), Briony Akle (Swifts coach), Jo Harten (Giants Netball captain), Caitlin Bassett (Australian Diamonds captain) and Julie Fitzgerald (Giants coach).
