Kennedy built on an outstanding 2019 premiership season in the Canterbury Cup for the Newtown Jets with solid performances at the back for the Sharks as he deputised for the injured Matt Moylan.
Not only did he make a number of crucial tackles, but he scored his maiden NRL try and set up another two. He also made 16 tackle breaks and two line breaks, averaging 109.4 running metres per match.
However, after starting off the bench in his return match then filling in a five-eighth last week, Moylan has been named at fullback for the Dragons match and Kennedy as a reserve.
The shuffle comes as halfback Chad Townsend returns from a hamstring complaint after sitting out last Saturday's victory over the North Queensland Cowboys.
