The weekly service will see a Bathurst Buslines bus leave from Trunkey Creek at 8am each Wednesday and reach Bathurst Railway Station at 9.08am via Neville, Barry, Newbridge, Wimbledon, Georges Plains and Perthville.

A return service to Trunkey Creek will depart from Bathurst Hospital at 4.30pm on the same day.

Bathurst Private Hospital, Bathurst RSL Club and the Acropole Bus Terminus have also been included on the bus route.

Bathurst MP and Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the Trunkey Creek to Bathurst run is one of six new trial services launching across the state this week.

"This initiative is about reaching out to those smaller villages and communities who don't have access to public transport," Mr Toole said.

"For some of these communities, it will be the first time they've seen public transport into their local area, and this could prove crucial in giving elderly residents the opportunity to live independently in their homes for longer."

"They'll be able to get into larger towns, keep medical appointments, go shopping and catch up with family and friends, and I'm absolutely thrilled that Bathurst Buslines is supporting us with this initiative."

The trial service will initially run for six months, and Mr Toole said the initiative was a key commitment during the 2019 state election.

"We hope the community takes this service on board, as it will obviously be judged on the numbers of people who have used the bus at the end of the six-month period," he said.

"Trunkey Creek alone is home to over 100 residents, and I know there'll be a lot of people in outlying villages jumping for joy at this news."

Mr Toole said 13 trial services are currently in place across NSW, and each service is regularly assessed on passenger use and timetable viability.

Bathurst Buslines group operations manager Geoff Ferris said the new service will provide a welcome boost for smaller communities who are often left out of the public transport debate.

"To be able to link to a town like Bathurst with great medical and business facilities will be of great benefit to residents in smaller villages," Mr Ferris said.

"This service will also give these villages the opportunity to connect with the rail network for statewide travel."
