The council's decision to proceed with the track on Wahluu is again completely disregarding the wishes of a community that is impacted; that community includes all those who love Bathurst and its environment.
I question this track on many levels, not only for the noise it will create on a weekend (noise travels very far in the Bathurst valley), but also the lack of sustainability this kind of sport promotes - it's noisy, fuel guzzling and smelly with exhaust fumes.
The issue of ignoring (yet again!) the cultural significance of Wahluu for local Wiradyuri women is just displaying another ignorant council, doing what they have always done - putting their ideals and culture above anything else.
When do we learn that there are other more important and beautiful elements to the history of Wahluu?
Just because we can build a track does not mean we should.
