Activities at the club resumed on Sunday with the running of the club's Motorkhana event at the John Windsor Motorsport Park, pitting drivers against one another in testing muddy conditions.
While there was a first prize to battle for, BLCC president Mick Tuckey said members just enjoyed the chance to be back behind the wheel having a bit of fun - albeit with restricted numbers.
"We took the decision to limit the event, which is usually a Come and Try Day, to members only in this instance to make it more manageable in terms of keeping track of those in attendance - this worked out well," he said.
Tuckey added that all members did an excellent job at sticking to the guidelines in place, which were needed in order to conduct the event.
"It was for members only, due to the COVID situation, and we ran the event in a controlled environment within the plan we had to prepare for CAMS," he said.
"Everybody observed those rules and the day went quite well.
"We had good attendance of board members to assist in the operational side of the day to limit contact of competitors and all worked out well. We only had 14 competitors overall with a good mix of Juniors and some old faces missing."
Victory on the day went to current club champion Robert Dean.
Dean, who also topped the E-4WD standings, powered through the mud to record a total time of 227.63 seconds over his six best runs.
Bailey Edwards was the fastest of the juniors, clocking in a 262.19 which was strong enough for sixth overall.
A total of 49 members either took part in the event or attended the complex, and the club have received four enquires about joining for the next event.
The Bathurst Light Car Club are now looking to run a Khanacross event this Sunday.
"This type of event is the next step up, and takes the vehicles up and around the side of the hill across the various levy banks," Tuckey said.
"More experienced drivers participate in these events, however Juniors who have done at least three motorkhanna events and demonstrated competence in vehicle driving and control with a good responsible attitude may also enter.
"Our first bitumen event is being planned to be a Flying Fifth on Saturday September 12 which should be a good event for competitors ... with a Hill Climb on the Esses the following day, which is very popular.
"Both these events are still to be formally approved by MSA, which is the normal procedure, and a COVID return to motorsport plan will be developed for each one."
