The Pictures of You exhibition is due to launch on Friday, August 14, and will include a series of locally-submitted black and white portraits reflecting life, unity and relationships during the recent lockdown period.
Entries are open to photographers of all ages and abilities, and each portrait is encouraged to include someone significant to the composer as the subject.
"Pictures of You is an opportunity for members of the community to artistically share their experiences with family and friends during isolation," BRAG audience engagement officer Julian Woods said.
"We want the black and white imagery to show a sense of nostalgia and unity in these uncertain times."
All entries will be assessed by BRAG staff and a selection will be printed onto high quality archival photo paper to be exhibited at the gallery and digitally on the website.
Mr Woods said BRAG will launch a series of tutorials through their website and social media platforms to assist photographers with monochrome techniques.
"We'll be taking high quality mobile phone photos into consideration, as well as screenshots that have been taken during video calls on Zoom, as they're relevant to the period we want to convey," he said.
"Each photo will be assessed on artistic merit and how each image creatively portrays aspects of the lockdown period."
"Entry is free of charge, and photos can be self-portraits and pictures of multiple people."
A short story about the image is required with each entry, and a maximum of one entry is allowed per participant.
The Pictures of You exhibition will be launched at BRAG in tandem with the 2019 Archibald Prize Regional Tour, and will last until Sunday, October 11.
Entries to the exhibition close at midnight on Wednesday, July 29.
