"If the virus [COVID-19] still has a presence in the broader community, we don't want the show to be a means by which it can be transported into our local community," committee secretary Jim Burke said.
"The age demographic of people associated with the show are at high risk if exposed to the COVID-19 virus."

The show, which is well-known for its Golden Fleece competition, was to have been held in October.
Committee members said fears of a second wave and the possibility of a compulsory shutdown of the show if that second wave occurred weighed on their mind as they came to the decision.
They also said the rescheduling of community events to later this year had made for a very congested timetable.
The Trunkey Show was also called off in 2016, but for a very different reason - a period of consistently wet weather in the region.
Elsewhere in the region, the Burraga Sheep Show and Country Fair has also been cancelled for this year due to coronavirus.
Organisers say it is only the third time in 60 years that the show has had to be cancelled.
