The production, originally scheduled for an August release, was initially delayed to November in response to COVID-19.
Cinderella director Sam English said the production has been pushed back again to maximise its potential to draw an audience.
"Even if we could put it on later this year, I'm unsure as to what sort of audience we'd attract, as the venue [Keystone 1889] will likely have to abide by the four-square-metre rule," Mr English said.
"So we've made the decision to commence production in September for a February launch, where we hopefully will have more room to move with it."
Mr English said the cast has had their first script read-through, and although Keystone 1889 is up for sale, he's confident it won't affect the show from going ahead.
"The venue has hosted regular BTC productions for years and even if it sells, the fact we've organised this already should work in our favour," he said.
Mr English and many Cinderella cast members have also been busy with an Alice in Wonderland-themed project alongside Greer Films and Momentum's Dave Webb.
