The decision was made on Monday night.
With three months to go to a possible alternative date, the Show Council of the Bathurst AH and P Association said it agreed with the recommendation of its executive committee that the "option of conducting a rescheduled 2020 Reliance Bank Royal Bathurst Show on the October long weekend was increasingly unlikely".

The association says it will now focus on planning the 152nd Royal Bathurst Show on April 16-18, 2021 "in the hope that conditions and restrictions will have eased to the extent it can run".
Horse section competitors will receive separate notifications regarding options available from next week.
Pre-purchased ticket holders, sponsors and commercial exhibitors will also be contacted directly from next week to discuss available options, according to the association.
