On Wednesday morning, a delivery driver in a truck backed into a support post outside Vanessa Pringle Floral Designs, breaking off the bottom half of the structure.
While she stressed that the incident was a complete accident, business owner Vanessa Pringle lamented the damaged caused to one of Bathurst's heritage buildings.
"It's just disappointing to see extensive damage to a 130-year-old post," Ms Pringle said.
"The driver was very apologetic and gave his details willingly, he was very upset about the whole situation."
Ms Pringle said the next tasks will be to organise repairs for the post and lobby council for more protection in front of the supports.
"I have asked council about this before to no avail," she said.
A council spokesperson said, in this instance, the matter would be between the business owner and vehicle owner.
