Forecasts show that snow is possible from 10pm on Friday through until 7am on Saturday in areas around Meadow Flat, Oberon and Jenolan Caves.
At 7.30am on Friday there were no current alpine alerts for any roads in the region, but motorists are urged to drive with caution and reduce their speed.
A sheep graziers warning is already in place for the two days in the Central Tablelands due to the very cold temperatures, showers and winds.
There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

- Lithgow - top of 10 degrees Friday, 8 degrees Saturday
- Oberon - top of 11 degrees Friday, 9 degrees Saturday
- Orange - top of 9 degrees Friday, 5 degrees Saturday
At this stage roads on Mount Canobolas remain open.
