Many of your readers will know of the film, but it may be worth commenting on how the Australians in the film met their end times in such a calm and dignified way, excepting their atrocious endless renditions of Waltzing Matilda.

And these were Melbourne people!
Yes, it was just a film. But the film offers a message that there is more to life, and death, than going to meet your maker with a well-wiped bottom.
