A BATHURST man has been charged after allegedly spitting on another man in the city's central business district.

Police said the man was charged following the alleged spitting incident which occurred in Bathurst earlier this week.
Police will allege that about 1.50pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, a 43-year-old man spat on another man - who was not known to him - while he was on William Street, Bathurst.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District were notified of the incident by the victim and they attended the scene shorty after.
Following inquiries, the 43-year-old man was arrested by police after an alleged short struggle with officers.
He was taken to Bathurst Police Station and charged with resist officer in execution of duty, behave in offensive manner in public place, assault officer in execution of duty, and breaching his bail conditions.
The man was granted conditional bail by police and will appear before Bathurst Local Court on Monday, August 10, 2020.
