Central West residents may be used to nail-biting cold weather during winter, but in one town it was almost eight degrees below average.
Lithgow was by far the coldest place overnight with the mercury falling to -4.5 degrees, with a 'feels like' temperature down to a very chilly -7.2.

This was well below the median July minimum of 0.7 degrees.
In Mudgee the mercury plummeted to -2.9 degrees, with a 'feels like' of -5.3 degrees. The month's long-term minimum is 1.1 degrees.
Dubbo residents woke up to 0.1 degrees, with a 'feels like' of -3.3, which is well below the month's long-term median of 3.0 degrees.
Orange failed to fall below zero with a low of 1.4 degrees, however the 'feels like' dropped to -2.1. The July median minimum is 0.5 degrees.
Bathurst was by far the warmest place to be overnight with the mercury dropping to 3.4 degrees, while the 'feels like' was 0.1.
The long-term median minimum for July in Bathurst is 0.8 degrees.

- Bathurst 13 degrees
- Dubbo 15 degrees
- Lithgow 13 degrees
- Mudgee 16 degrees
- Orange 10 degrees
