ENTRIES for the Bathurst Eisteddfod's face-to-face component have now closed. Entrants are still able to enter solo dance, speech and instrumental submissions into the eisteddfod's online syllabus B component, which will open for entries this Friday, July 10. Syllabus B will place greater emphasis on entries with mass participants, such as dance groups, choirs and bands (infants, primary secondary and open), and entertainment ensembles. Syllabus A performances will take place at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre and Walshaw Hall between August 22 and September 5, while syllabus B will be adjudicated online from September 25.

While this year's Spring Spectacular will not go ahead, the Bathurst Garden Club will hold a Plant and Garden Expo on October 24 at Berry Park. Organisers are hoping to have up to 50 stallholders take part. Anyone interested in having a stall at the expo can contact Ted Reedy on 6332 4253 for more information.
The HK HT HG Holden Nationals is planned for later this year at Bathurst. The event will be for the 1968, 69 and 70 model Holdens and will also celebrate 50 years of the HG Holden, which was released in 1970. The show will run from October 30 to November 1 and will feature an event at Mayfield Garden and racing at Mount Panorama. Petbarn Bathurst is accepting donations to the Seeing Eye Dogs Appeal until August 2. The appeal aims to raise more than $500,000 to help cover the costs of breeding, training, and caring for at least 10 Seeing Eye Dogs. Tickets are still available for the Bathurst Winter Festival Drive-In Cinema at Mount Panorama. Comedy, children's and family, romance, thriller and action will hit the screen every night of the festival. One ticket will get one car in, but as many people can be in the car as is legally allowed. Tickets are $45 per vehicle for a single session.
