The event, held each year during the Bathurst Winter Festival, has already showcased a bunch of Bathurst's finest up and coming talent throughout the week, including Belle Whitwell, Ben Rudgley and Madi Pincott.
Each musician has been paired up with a local cafe or restaurant, with participating venues including Doppio, Brilliant Street Cafe, The Hub and Bake, Table and Tea.
Cameron Russell performed at Harvest Cafe on Thursday as part of the event, and he said it was a pleasure to be performing in front of people again.
"It's great to see events like this starting again after such a long lockdown period," Cameron said.
Harvest Cafe co-owner and head chef Chris Ringrose said live music adds a greater atmospheric presence to local venues.
"It's a great opportunity for local performers and it's nice to see the Winter Festival overcome the restrictions by branching out into other areas of the community," Mr Ringrose said.
Bathurst mayor Bobby Bourke said the Groove and Grill showcases some of the region's best young musicians.
"It gives them a chance to be part of a major community event and to be seen by a wider audience, which helps them to practice their talent and build their confidence as performers," Cr Bourke said.
While the event isn't taking place on a stage in Kings Parade as in previous years due to public health orders around COVID-19, Cr Bourke said the reworked schedule puts greater emphasis on local venues.
"The event will feature a different artist in a local venue each weekday," he said.
"This encourages people to get out to businesses in the community, eat lunch and enjoy some local music."
The next featured artist will be Lily Morgillo, who will perform at El Guapo Cantina from 12pm on Friday.
