Turnbull was thrown from the gig on Gold Onyx in the meeting's fifth race, and was run over by another sulky shortly after the race's start.

Following the incident Turnbull was rushed to the local hospital where she arrived in a stable condition.

Turnbull reported hearing several cracks during the incident and there are concerns around the condition of her back, pelvis and hips.

Turnbull's mother Wendy initially feared she was caught in the stirrup and would be dragged along the track but was thankful that wasn't the case.

"They've just taking her in for a CT scan at Young," Wendy Turnbull said on Wednesday.

"She said she felt something crack when she went down. During the initial x-rays they saw one fracture and they thought it wasn't displaced.

"But the radiology report, by the time we got here, had showed us that there were two fractures and that they were displaced in the pelvis."

The family were initially told that Turnbull would be transferred to Wagga Wagga but are now seeking a move to Orange, which looks to be the likely outcome.

"You can't do the support from that far away, and Sydney would be closer for us," Wendy Turnbull said.

"That looks like it's on target at the moment. If she needs treatment - and we don't know how long that's going to be - then that's closer for us.

"And due to COVID-19 only one of us have been able to go in and see her through the day. My sister came over with me last night and she's out in the waiting room.

"Emma said she had a good sleep but her back's killing her. She's swearing a bit about the bed - and hopefully that's all it is."
