WEAR Red Day, for Ronald McDonald House, being held on Thursday, July 30, is shaping up to the be the biggest so far.
In it's first year, in 2017, 16 schools took part in the event. This year 60 schools from across the region will participate, along with businesses who have also nominated to support the day.
Last year the event raised almost $10,000 with all funds raised going towards keeping the doors open at Ronald McDonald House Orange.
Principal of Bathurst High, Ken Barwick, who came up with the fundraiser three years ago, said it was great to see so many schools on board.
"All kids love to dress up for a great cause and I cannot think of a better cause than Ronald McDonald House Orange. Staff at Ronald McDonald House Orange do an amazing job supporting many families across Regional NSW, during some of the most difficult times in their lives.
"The work they do on a daily basis is extremely important to individuals and the wider community. In my school alone, we have several students who have been in hospital for extended periods, and their families rely on the support" he said.
