I want to express my deep disappointment and outrage at the recent decision taken for cancer patients to be taken to Orange for their first and/or complex chemotherapy treatments.
When you or a loved one is told you have cancer, your world wobbles seismically as you assimilate the news and wonder and worry about the new journey you are on.
I can say from first-hand experience that Peter (patient) and I (carer) were wonderfully supported and encouraged by all staff at Daffodil Cottage.

Victoria Collins was outstanding.
As someone who donated towards the building and setting up of Daffodil Cottage by local citizens and who protested and fought for its survival after an earlier Health Department decision to move a different department into the Cottage, I want to say that Victoria Collins was such an asset and very much appreciated.
Victoria Collins was a warm, caring, professional staff member who gave us support and encouragement at an extremely emotional and difficult time in our lives.
Bathurst chose to raise money to build Daffodil Cottage for the express purpose of providing a homely local centre for cancer patients.
It has assisted hundreds of local patients, doing away with the need to travel to Orange or any other centre, thus increasing the physical, psychological and emotional trauma to already deeply stressed patients and carers.
I support everyone in calling for Victoria Collins to be reinstated as the senior oncologist pharmacist.
