Thankfully White's subsequent back injury wasn't painful enough to stop her taking to the field this year.
Sporting her new two blues colours White is yet to find a taste of victory, which she hopes will change this Saturday in a trip away to Parkes.
White is just happy to be out on the field after her incident during the coronavirus delays.
"I work at CrossFit 2795 and doing some of the online coaching I fell off the pull up rig that we have at home. I ended up fracturing my L1, L2, L3 and L4," she said.
"Coming back has been difficult. I've faced physical and mental challenges. I haven't been able to do a lot of things I've normally been able to do ... but I'm getting there.
"The specialist says it's probably another two months until I'm out of pain by I just take it day by day."
The move to Souths has helped White join forces with some of her teammates from her early junior days.
Getting matches back underway is a chance for White to not only enjoy her hockey but to reconnect with those players.
"I've really enjoyed it. It's been a good change. I've been able to play with some of the girls I grew up with like Sophie Macauley," she said.
"I only got to play with her in district hockey but now I get to every weekend, which I really enjoy because we played together since we started hockey."
Souths have been in the mix in their two losses but couldn't quite stay in touch with their opponents on both occasions.
They went down 3-1 last week to Lithgow Panthers and a 3-2 defeat in the opening round to Bathurst City.
Despite the losses White's enjoyed the experience so far and is confident that on their day Souths can be a force.
"Every game we've improved. You see snippets from our games where you think 'Wow this team's got some really good talent here' and it's really cool to watch. I think in the future it's going to be great.
"The shorter season makes it harder to get a team which can gel together but I think we've just been unlucky when trying to finish off those crucial parts of the game."
Parkes return home on the back of what they'll see as a positive 1-all draw against St Pat's.
The girls in black and red have stated their case as a team to watch in the early stages of the competition.
"It will be a tough game regardless. Parkes are a fabulous club who have always provided great competition," White said.
"We'll need to be on our game. I'm really keen for it."
The match at Parkes gets underway from 1.30pm.
