The students were simply on another level as they played three near-flawless quarters of rugby, only to run out of gas in a scoreless final term.
But by that point the hosts had made a massive statement to the rest of the competition through their speed off the line, their ball movement and defensive ability.
Adamson was simply in awe of the side's ability to perfectly replicate what they had worked on in practice and adapt to whatever Wellington threw their way.
"It was probably the most complete game I've ever seen them play in the last couple of years. They really worked well as a team and knew each other's job," he said.
"They took the foot off the pedal a bit in the last quarter and that's the only issue to take out of the game. I said at three quarter-time I wanted them to have a crack at putting a cricket score on ... but it was pretty wet and they were buggered."
CSU opened the scoring but Wellington kept them on their toes by finding a quick reply.

When the hosts were able to find the game's next try they began asserting themselves in the contest with great phases of play and quick movement out wide.
And from there it was all she wrote.
For the opening three quarters the students rarely took a step back as they perfectly executed at the breakdown and set pieces.
Adamson said that's a product of the work they put into practice through the week leading up to the game.
"We've been working really hard on our structure at training. There's a lot of girls in the team who have never played rugby before," he said.
"They've really picked up the game over the past week and they all know what they need to do out there. They're going out there, playing and moving together well as a team.
"The forwards were dominant yesterday. It didn't matter who we took off or who we had on out there it was always a high standard of play.
"When Wellington had the ball our defence was unreal. We had great line speed, which was another thing we'd worked hard on."
The result comes after CSU's 36-7 success over Parkes in the opening round, and it already makes the students one of the team's everyone will be keeping an eye on this season.
If the team can maintain the standard they showed on Saturday then there's more good times to come.
"I was struggling to give any sort of constructive criticism and feedback at the end of that game. I was just so happy with the result," Adamson said.
