As of Tuesday, 24 ducks have been sold for the event on September 13 and event coordinator Steve Semmens said money raised this year will go towards the 2BS Bathurst Lions Club Christmas Miracle Appeal.
"We just pick a local charity to support and this one happens to be the Christmas Miracle Appeal because the feeling is that there's going to be a lot more people needing help at Christmas time," Mr Semmens explained.

The event is fairly simple. Each participant entered will place a plastic duck in the river and watch it flow down, with the first one over the finish line the winner.
"The ducks are larger ones than the yellow ones and it starts down near Peace Park, where we can get to the water," Mr Semmens said.
"It'll be interesting this year because it's the first year I've so much water in it.
"I was actually down there the other day and thinking, 'It's flowing pretty well'."
While numbers are slightly down from last year - 30 ducks were sold in total - Mr Semmens is still pleased with the support from businesses considering the current financial situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
"We had 30 last year but because of COVID-19, a lot of businesses aren't able to help like they normal would and that's fair enough," he said.
"We're very pleased with that and we're still selling ducks, so we might sell the whole 30 again."
