THERE may be no ISA Rugby season in 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns but St Stanislaus' College's senior players are still getting the chance to end their time in the school's program with one last series of matches.

The club's 1st XV were recently involved in a clash with the Dubbo Kangaroos colts side, where Stannies old boy Beau Robinson forms part of the coaching staff, and the Bathurst school greatly appreciated the opportunity to give their year 12 players match time.
And it won't be their last taste of rugby.
Stannies are hopeful of organising a meeting with Scots All Saints College this weekend and possibly matching up against Orange Emus.
When the ISA season fell by the wayside due to the coronavirus it was unclear whether the Bathurst schools would have a chance of getting onto the field for any significant match time.
St Stanislaus' head of sport David Burke said the clash with the Roos late last month was a great moment for the school's senior side.
"We've withdrawn from ISA Rugby with the recommendations on not travelling across the mountains ... but the 1st XV played a game against Dubbo, picking up a game when they had the bye," he said.
"We've been contacting all the teams who have a bye in the Central West colts competition to see if they're interested in playing.
"We were grateful that the kids got to pull the jersey on. They got an even better experience than what they were anticipating because they had a former Wallaby Beau Robinson present their jerseys to them in the sheds."
The rare experience under lights was one for the boys to savour, and an old boys supporter group were also in attendance to lend their support from the sidelines.
Burke said it's been great to forge a partnership with Central West Rugby Union.
"Matt Tink from Central West Rugby Union has been very helpful in trying to organise these fixtures. We're trying to keep that going, picking up a game wherever we can on this side of the mountains," he said.
Unfortunately for Stannies their long-time ISA rival Kinross Wolaroi College in Orange won't be one of those sides.
Kinross made a much earlier decision to step away from the ISA competition and that led to their players looking elsewhere for matches.
"I don't think that game will happen because they went out of the competition earlier and their kids are now playing club rugby," Burke said.
Stepping away from ISA Rugby was an easy decision in the end for the Bathurst school to make when uncertainty began to build around the coronavirus situation in Sydney.
"When the ISA competition resumed our first week was St Greg's in Campbelltown coming to play out here," Burke said.
"We've been in contact with each other through the holidays and when the public health announcement came out that non-essential travel across the mountains should be avoided then we'd be silly to go against that."
