On August 24, 2018, Dr Kylie Moore-Gilbert boarded a flight from her home in Melbourne, Australia bound for Iran to participate in a university program for foreign academics.
IN NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
As a result, a fellow academic and an interview subject reported her as "suspicious" to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
On September 14, 2018, as she was about to board her flight home, she was arrested and thrown into Tehran's notorious Evin Prison.
She was sentenced to 10 years in prison for espionage.
The government of Australia has not managed to secure her release.
Kylie should never have been imprisoned.
Most of all, Aussies should be supporting Kylie and bombarding our Prime Minister to do all he can to get Kylie out of this situation: www.pm.gov.au/contact-your-pm; www.change.org/p/scott-morrison-free-dr-kylie-moore-gilbert/u/27484582.
Please, everyone, let's get the Bathurst girl back on Aussie soil.
