This year's event is an initiative between the Western Advocate, Bathurst Regional Council and Prime7, with competitions, events and business training throughout the month.
Council's economic development manager Steve Bowman said every dollar spent locally helps to keep jobs and create new ones in the Bathurst community.
"BizMonth is council's way of encouraging the community to support and celebrate our local businesses," he said.
"BizMonth is especially important this year to help with our economic recovery."
Western Advocate sales manager Nils Gustafson shared Mr Bowman's sentiment.
"Considering the challenges our economy has gone through in the past six months, now more than ever is a time when our community needs to get behind local business as much as possible," he said.
Bathurst Regional Council will host several business training opportunities throughout BizMonth: on September 15 and 22 and October 1 at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre. For more information, contact council's David Flude on 6333 6182.
The Bathurst Rotary Corporate Duck Race will be held on Sunday, September 13, while the BizMonth Business Lunch will be held on Tuesday, September 29, with the location to be confirmed.
There'll also be music at Kings Parade every Friday and Saturday during lunch time.
The Western Advocate's Crazy Day will fall on Thursday, September 24, with activities running all day throughout the CBD.
The Western Advocate, together with the Bathurst Business Chamber, is also hosting the People's Choice Award 2020.
Interested businesses are required to upload a two minute video describing their achievements over the past year to social media and complete an online form made available on the Western Advocate's website at www.westernadvocate.com.au.
Entries close on Wednesday, September 9, before all entrants go live via the Western Advocate on Friday, September 11. This will give the community a chance to vote for their favourite business.
Voting closes at midday on Friday, September 18, with the winners announced on a virtual event at 5.30pm on Tuesday, September 22.
The business that receives the most votes will receive an advertising package, donated by the Western Advocate.
