The fair will feature a host of rides coming from Sydney along with local market stalls, food vans and showbags, and organiser Jade Evans said it will all be done in a COVID-19 safe way.

The Bathurst fairs are still scheduled to go ahead even after organisers agreed to postpone an event planned in Orange for the weekend of September 19-20. The Orange fair will now be held in November.

The Bathurst Fun Fair will also be held after uncertainty over the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the Royal Bathurst Show earlier this year.

"The [Bathurst] mini fun fair will have all the bells and whistles of a giant show, but without the craft and animals," Ms Evans said.

"We're super excited about bringing it to Bathurst."

Bathurst Fun Fair will be held on two consecutive weekends, September 12-13 and 19-20, at Bathurst Showground.

Entry will be via a four-hour session with numbers capped at 400 to stay within the four square metre per person rules.

There will be dedicated entry and exit points with temperature checks and a contact register for all guests as they come in.

"We're asking the kids and families who come to do it in a COVID safe sway," Ms Evans said.

"There will be a COVID marshall and all the rides will be wiped over frequently."

Entry sessions are 10am until 2pm and 3-7pm each day.

Entry is $5 and then you can purchase rides as you go, or there is an unlimited ride pass for $30.

"It's really good value and our businesses haven't worked very much since March," Ms Evans said.

"We've already started selling tickets online and they're doing really well."
