The online workshops, co-hosted by BRAG and Goldberg Aberline Studio [GAS] will invite residents to help create a large inflatable sculpture for display at this year's Sculpture by the Sea exhibition at Bondi.
BRAG director Sarah Gurich said the workshops are an exciting opportunity for the Bathurst community to provide input into a major art installation.
"These workshops go for about an hour and a half, and are aimed at giving everyone a chance to actively contribute to the creative process," Ms Gurich said.
"You don't have to be an artist to take part, the workshops are designed specifically to ensure everyone feels comfortable enough to take part."
The Adaptation project explores how collaboration, in the age of COVID-19, can happen online in new and amazing ways.
Ms Gurich said the workshops will take place on Zoom, and participants will need a computer, tablet or smartphone to take part.
"The artwork will also feature contributions from Maitland, Albury and Grafton, and will be exhibited at BRAG following Sculpture by the Sea," she said.
"This project is also an extension of Bathurst's public art policy, which is designed to develop community participatory art projects to break down perceptions of where art can exist."
The first workshop runs today from 10.30am, and two further workshops will be held on September 15 and 22 at the same time. To register, visit the BRAG website [places are strictly limited].
