Webb will release 'Sunrise' on September 18, a song he wrote 15 years ago in Pilot, a band he formed in Lithgow with his high school mates.
"This was one of the first songs we wrote, and there's still people who ask me to play it at gigs," Webb said.
"I grew up listening to heavy metal [I'm a huge Metallica fan] and while it's not as obvious these days in the songs I write, you can definitely hear those heavier roots, especially in the solos."
Webb said 'Sunrise' evokes that urgency to chase your dreams while also attempting to keep the demons of self-doubt at bay.
"I was a nervous kid back in the day, and over time, the song has become more emotional for me," he said.
"These days, I'm more focused on my dreams and goals, and I'm letting passion drive me rather than nerves."
Webb said 'Sunrise' will be the first in a series of releases reflecting his career in music.
"I'm not trying to reinvent who I am, I want to tell the story of where I've come from," he said.
"There's so many songs that haven't been given the time of day, so now's the time to put them out there."
Also a handy producer ['Sunrise' is self-produced], Webb recently commenced work as a studio assistant at Orange's Dotted Eight Studio.
'Sunsets' will be available on all streaming platforms, and will be released alongside an accompanying music video, produced by Greer Films.
