It is an initiative of several of Australia's Social Sciences associations and is co-ordinated by the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia.
Charles Sturt University plays a major role in Social Sciences Week which, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has to be done a little differently this year
With most events moving online this actually provides everyone with the opportunity to get involved. Find out more at https://socialsciences.org.au/socialsciencesweek/
This Friday at 5.30pm, 2MCE will be broadcasting a special program for Social Sciences Week presented by staff from the University's School of Information Studies.
This program will feature a discussion on empowering access to information for all members of society. Researchers from CSU's School of Information Studies will share insight from their projects like supporting libraries in prisons and how the Open Access movement is changing the face of information.
Hear why libraries are highly prized and beneficial for many of Australia's prison inmates.
You can also be part of the conversation during the program and get involved in a Q&A via the School of Information Studies Facebook page facebook.com/SISCSU.
Community drive
ACROSS the week, a great way to keep up with the latest news from around the region and around the country is to tune into Community Drive each weekday at 4pm. Hosted by a team of dedicated 2MCE volunteer presenters, each day you'll hear a round up of national news, the latest online gems found by our Digital Culture Vulture and interviews with local people in the news.
Community Drive each weekday at 4pm.
Don't forget, if you want to check out what programs are coming up on 2MCE, our schedule is easy to find on 2MCE.org. Here you'll also find stories of presenters, more about the programs, and it's from here you can stream the 2MCE broadcast.
Have your say
2MCE is conducting a listener survey to find out who listens to 2MCE and why!
2MCE is asking all readers to complete the survey and share the link with your friends.
Even if you don't listen to 2MCE, complete the survey and tell us why not? If you do listen to 2MCE we'd like to know what your favourite programs are, what times of the day and night you listen to 2MCE and what you think we can do better.
Every response counts so we can hear what you want from your community radio station.
If you'd like to participate, please head to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8MJD2DF. The survey link will also be available on the 2MCE Facebook page.
No personal identity information is collected in this survey, and all responses remain confidential.
