Now Ben Chifley Dam is on the verge of capacity, sitting at 95.5 per cent as of the most recent reading on Tuesday, September 8.
The level is the highest the dam has been at since January, 2017, and with rain falling throughout Wednesday, the level is expected to continue rising.
As of 3pm on Wednesday, Bathurst had received 10 millimetres.
