A TRIO of Bathurst Panthers teams hunt for a grand final place during this Saturday's Group 10 junior rugby league semis, with a great derby battle on the cards at Jack Arrow Oval.
The Panthers under 16s will look to keep their superb season going strong when they play rivals St Pat's in the first-versus-fourth semi-final while their youngest competitive counterparts in under 11s are also eyeing off a winning minor premier season.
They will play the Lithgow Storm in the opening clash of the day, while the Panthers under 15s will test themselves against the second-place finishers St John's.
Panthers' youngest side will go in as huge favourites against the Storm considering they're yet to drop a game this year.
However, there will be a degree of uncertainty surrounding the Storm since they are yet to play the Lithgow side this year, due to a snowed out fixture.
Coach Zarlia Griffiths said the team have enjoyed an amazing season to date.
"They're absolutely stoked. They had a goal to try and reach the grand final at the end of the season," she said.
"We're undefeated at the moment so hopefully can keep that form going until the end. They're an awesome bunch of kids you can't complain about and they're great players.
"They're grateful to still have a season of football to play this year, and we've had a squad of 20 kids which is really great. They've also done well with all the regulations in place."
Griffiths is keen to see how the team will handle the challenge against a team they're yet to face.
"It was a snow day last time we were meant to play them," she said.
"I'll definitely back our guys every time. We've got a great bunch there."
Griffiths' squad get the day underway from 9am, along with the age group's second-versus-third semi-final between Cowra and CYMS Green.
Panthers' under 15s play at 1.30pm and the Bathurst derby in the 16s is at 3pm.
