THE Country Arts Support Program (CASP) is a NSW Government program through Create NSW with funding up to $3000 per project.
It's delivered locally by the state's 14 Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADO).
We thought you might like a heads up on some of the more common funding questions.
Who can apply for CASP funding?
- A not-for-profit incorporated body.
- A local government authority.
- A collective with a nominated funds administrator (see below).
- Applicants are required to have a current Certificate of Currency for broadform liability or 'public liability' insurance.
What is a funds administrator?
This is sometimes called an 'auspicing' body. If your group is not incorporated, you can still apply for a grant if you have a funds administrator.
A funds administrator is a legally constituted organisation that will take legal and financial responsibility for a grant if awarded.
Can I apply for CASP as an individual or as a business?
You can team up with a local not-for-profit incorporated body to devise the project and put together the application - this group will be your funds administrator.
What kinds of projects does CASP fund?
Projects including but not limited to:
- Arts activities as part of community festivals or events.
- Artist-in-residence programs.
- Public art and design projects.
- Arts and cultural directories.
- Community seminars and forums.
- Other local arts initiatives.
See examples of projects funded last round at artsoutwest.org.au/category/industry-news/casp/
When do applications close?
Applications close at 5pm, Tuesday, September 29, 2020.
The funding is for which period?
Funding is for projects taking place between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021.
Why do I have to discuss my project first with my RADO?
This is really just so we can help you get everything right and maximise your chances of doing well.
It often takes just a quick conversation to figure out if your project is a fit or not, or if your organisation will be eligible to apply.
Sometimes, if the project isn't a fit for CASP, we can point you in the direction of funding that better suits you.
