The package was presented as a mayoral minute to Wednesday night's council meeting.
It included about $35,000 in fee waivers for summer sporting groups, $10,000 for the Bathurst District Sport and Recreational Council and $10,000 for Arts OutWest.
Wednesday night's stimulus package is the fourth from council since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The first package, passed in April, include user fee waivers for local rugby league, rugby union, Australian rules and netball organisations, along with a raft of fee waivers for local businesses including health inspections and outdoor dining levies.
A second package in May included $18,000 for the Bathurst Business Chamber and deferred repayments for community groups while the third package in June directed about $120,000 to projects that could assist in the recovery from COVID-19.
"Council will continue working with businesses, artists, sporting groups and other community organisations to support them with this third round of measures that are aimed to sustain and rebuild our economy," mayor Bobby Bourke said.
"The total value of the stimulus measures to date is $722,070."
Among the measures expected to be approved by council last night were:
- Waiving the user fees of parks, gardens and active spaces for summer sporting groups.
- Providing the Bathurst District Sport and Recreational Council (BDS&RC) with $10,000 to assist affiliated sporting bodies to cover costs incurred due to COVID-19.
- Providing Arts OutWest with $10,000 to be utilised in assisting the organisation to achieve its mission.
The sporting group fee waivers include $19,629 for Bathurst District Cricket Association for the use of council-owned fields, $6038 for Bathurst Touch Football and $2000 each for Bathurst BMX Club and Bathurst Cycle Club.
The financial impact to council as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic is so far estimated at $4.1 million although savings have been identified in the budget to help fund the losses.
The full mayoral minute is available on Bathurst Regional Council's website as part of Wednesday night's business paper.
