Transport for NSW says work will involve drilling, controlled low impact blasting and removal of granite to allow for shoulder widening on the highway.
Blasting will be carried out once per day between 11am and 1pm, and is expected to take four days to complete, weather permitting, according to Transport for NSW.

Traffic control, a reduced speed limit of 40 kilometres an hour and a detour on Sunny Corner Road will be in place for the safety of motorists and workers.
"Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, follow the directions of signs and traffic control and allow an additional 15 minutes travel time to their journey," a Transport for NSW spokesperson said.
"Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time."
