A Claudia McLaren try and crucial conversion from best-on-ground winner Bronte Emmanuel ensured the Mungals would continue their title-winning run in the competition - by far their hardest earned to date.
CSU has taken out every edition of the Mid West Cup's league tag competition since its inception, proving to be a powerhouse side year in and year out.
But they didn't have it all their own way this year.
Both clubs enjoyed solid recruitment from Group 10 clubs and during a high quality season it felt inevitable that the two clubs would meet on the last day of the 2020 competition.
The Heelers gave the Mungals a huge wake up call with a 32-14 victory in the major semi-final, forcing CSU to take the longer path through to the grand final.
A lack of enthusiasm was something the Mungals lacked in that game - and the CSU girls certainly brought a much greater amount of that into Saturday's finale.
The CSU squad were dialled in from the early minutes of the grand final, letting the Heelers know that this time around it was going to be a much tougher affair.
CSU didn't waste time getting on the scoreboard in the grand final as a try from Emanuel, converted by Issy Hunt, took the Bathurst side out to a 6-0 lead.
Sarah Archer got the scores back level in the second quarter with a converted try, and it would be the only other score before the main break.

Defence was a big asset for both teams as their attacking opportunities continued to reap no rewards.
That changed early in the third term when Lily Phillips' try took CSU back out to 12-6 lead, and another four pointer from Jenn Kimbel really started to apply the pressure to Cargo.
The Heelers switched on for the final quarter as tries for Tayla Press and Molly Holswell levelled the scores at 16-all when the full-time whistle sounded.
Cargo looked destined for the title when Sami Laing's try gave them a 20-16 lead but CSU responded through McLaren.
Emanuel's successful conversion on the bell clinched the title.
McLaren's try was a great way to cap off a rare grand final double, having taken the Bathurst Bulldogs to Westfund Ferguson premiership glory earlier in the day.
The Mungoes premiership runs dates back to 2015, where they took down the Wallerawang Warriors on their home turf, and ever since then the uni side have dominated the competition.
In the run since the grand final that started it all, CSU have bested the Warriors again and even enjoyed several all-CSU finales - such has been their dominance in the Mid West Cup.
But the Heelers, who came within mere minutes of ending that premiership run, have given the uni women a reminder that they'll be back for more in 2021.
