Throughout the month of September, 60.6 millimetres of rain was recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology at the Bathurst Agricultural Station, the most since 129.8 millimetres was recorded back in 2016.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
It's also the second-wettest September since 2012, but it's only the seventh-wettest September this century.
The wettest September on recorded was set during the Second World War, with 130.1 millimetres back in 1943 (records at the agricultural station can be traced back to 1908).
Only 0.6 millimetres of rain has fallen in Bathurst this month so far, however, there's a good chance of rain this week.
There's a 80 per cent chance of a possible shower on Wednesday, which could bring 5-10 millimetres, followed by a 70 per cent chance of showers on Thursday, which could bring up to five millimetres.
Weatherzone's 28-day rainfall forecast indicates there will be eight 'medium' (50-75 per cent chance) days for rain this month, with the one 'high' (75 per cent or higher chance) day forecast for October 24.
