Supercars reopened ticket sales to race fans towards the end of September after suspending the process to allow for the event to be altered to suit COVID-safe protocols.
The COVID-safe plan developed for the event permits just 4000 spectators into the venue per day of the four-day race meeting, with seating limited to Murray's Corner, Pit Straight and Hell Corner.
A Supercars spokesperson confirmed that the event has yet to sell out.
"While there is still a number of tickets available for the event, we anticipate it will sell out over coming days," they said.
Race fans who had already purchased tickets earlier in the year were given the option of rolling over their ticket to the following year, and many people have taken Supercars up on the offer.
"Close to 90 per cent of renewing grandstand ticket holders have elected to roll-over to 2021," the spokesperson said.
The event will be very different for spectators this year, with no access to drivers or the paddock, and Merchandise Alley scrapped altogether.
Measures will also be implemented to ensure the safety of everyone, the Supercars spokesperson said.
"In line with our return to racing protocols, we've created separate spectator zones, separate parking zones and entry points. Each zone will have it's own dedicated amenities and food vendors," they said.
"Seating is allocated in a socially distanced manner in each zone, while police and COVID marshals will patrol the event.
"There will be proactive messaging on big screens throughout the event, medical personnel on site, sanitiser stations at every entry point and ticketing allows for contact tracing if it is required."
The Bathurst 1000 race event will be held at Mount Panorama from October 15 to 18, and will be broadcast on both free-to-air and paid television.
