It was never going to be the same Bathurst 1000 as previous years due to COVID-19, but it hasn't stopped a father/son duo from getting into the spirit of the race in their own way.

Bathurst's Ben Rozga and his 14-year-old son Greyson, their extended family's self-coined 'Mount Shed-orama' served as a welcome alternative to enjoy all the thrills and chills of the Great Race.
"Ever since Greyson was born, we've attended the race together, but we understood the atmosphere wouldn't be the same this year," Mr Rozga said.
"So we decided to visit our relatives on the Central Coast to enjoy the race at 'Mount Shed-orama', which has been an institution in our family for the last decade or so."
A lifelong fan of the Dick Johnson Racing team, Mr Rozga was a regular at the Bathurst 1000 as a child, an experience he has handed down to Greyson.
"It's a ritual for us, we watch the race with great interest every year, and the photo of Greyson and I on Pit Straight last year after Scott McLaughlin and Alex Premat won is one of my cherished memories," he said.
"It was a throwback to my experience the 1994 race after Dick himself had won, and I still remember the champagne from the podium drowning out my eyes."
With Bathurst residents encouraged to enjoy the race from home, Mr Rozga said he's thankful a father/son tradition was able to continue in some form.
"It was pretty special to celebrate it with the extended family, it's not something we're able to do often," he said.
"We're lucky the 1000 is such an iconic event, it would've been devastating if it was cancelled."
